Happy Birthday #1

Number #1 grandchild, Haley Mae, is 15! Time went fast with my children and it’s ramped up double with the grands! Seems like yesterday sweet Haley, you were the one and only grandchild to love on!

We’ve shared a lot of memories. Library & lunch dates, swimming, swinging on the porch swings, singing songs, reading books, playing dress up, blocks, puppets, cars, bike rides (even with you in the carrier behind me), zoo trips, theatre, movies, beach, skiing, playing in the park, painting nails, pb&j’s poolside, popsicles, shared drinks and germs. Certain you don’t remember most of them, and it’s ok, your dad doesn’t either! ha! But I do hope you remember and have always felt the love I have for you! The confidence I have in who you are, and are becoming! There’s joy in watching you grow to be a productive contribution to humanity with values of strength, kindness, justice, leadership and limitless love.

Your daddy was my #1, and he will confirm it’s a tough station to occupy. A lot of responsibility comes with that to carve a righteous path for your siblings to follow. I know you didn’t ask for that but Heavenly Father chose you to be the torch bearer! You got this! You are doing it well!

Keep loving us even though we are imperfect. This crazy family of ours is in this journey together and will be the constant for you in the ups and downs! Life is great, but it will throw you some curve balls. Be ready because the test is how you handle them. Just keep remembering who you are, where you came from and where you are going and the decisions will be easier!

I love you so very much and am grateful we share our lives and I get to be one of your grandmothers! You can always count on me! Love you to pieces! xo
